FROM THE STREETS......Photography Based Films & Animations

These films represent the visual language of an ongoing work entitled, The Money Machine. The Money Machine is a multi-media performance piece and film that employs the talk radio format to present a debate about the U.S. economy and the culture of "free market" capitalism. Visually, it uses a unique form of 35 mm photography to create digital animation that present the various rhythms of people as they move through the streets of New York City. The intent is to represent the pace and rhythm of contemporary life and highlight both the dominant energy of the metaphorical money machine as well as the small human moments where individuals move outside or against the dominant rhythm of the machine. The Money Machine, can be presented as either a film, video, theater piece or radio play. This project was awarded a residency fellowship from the Bogliasco Foundation in Italy.
